Sean Brackett threw seven touchdown passes, four of them to Mardy Gilyard, as the Massachusetts Pirates (2-4) defeated the New York Streets 70-51 on Memorial Day at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. Brackett completed 21 of 25 passes for 328 yards and also had a touchdown run in the game. Former NFL star Dexter McCluster made his Arena Football debut and had three catches for 59 yards including his first National Arena League touchdown catch.
For the Streets (3-2), EJ Nemeth completed 23 out of 44 passes for 292 yards and seven touchdowns while also running one in for a score. Rob Jones had eight catches for 69 yards and four touchdown catches while Devante Jenkins, Edgar Allen Poe and Tyler McDonald had one touchdown reception each. Defensively, Isaac Gross had four tackles and a sack.
This Saturday night, the Streets and Pirates will meet again, this time at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. Streets fans can watch the game on the NAL YouTube channel. Kickoff is at 7pm. The Streets return home on Saturday afternoon June 8th to battle the defending NAL champion Carolina Cobras in a 3pm kickoff. That game can be seen live on MSG Network.
